New Unverferth X-TREMEâ„¢ Front-fold Auger Grain Cart

8/26/2009

Unverferth Manufacturing Co., Inc. expands its industry-leading grain cart lineup for 2010 with the addition of the X-TREME models 1315, 1115 and 1015 with front-folding auger design. Capacities are 1,300, 1,100 and 1,000 plus bushels.

"Since the introduction of the first Unverferth corner-auger grain cart in 1988, we've been stretching our imagination to develop a high-capacity, single corner-auger front-fold design with the greatest possible outward, upward and forward unloading reach for optimum on-farm performance," says Shawn Gerdeman, product manager. "The Unverferth X-TREME models were specifically engineered to achieve those goals."

Unverferth X-TREME grain carts feature an auger that allows the upper portion to store diagonally along the front of the cart for maximum auger length, achieving its extreme outward, upward and forward reach for easier unloading. The Dyna-Torque auger combines 22"-diameter flighting in the sump area that feeds the 20" auger for superior unloading speeds of up to 620 bushel per minute. The auger's vortex downspout features a funnel design with 60° rotation for precisely controlling grain flow without splatter.

There's a patent-pending flex-coupler connection for smooth and efficient folding and unfolding, and a hydraulic locking mechanism for a leak-free auger connection during unloading. The upper and lower augers are also synchronized and computer balanced for smooth operation, greater dependability and longer life. The 22"-diameter lower auger features reinforced 1/2"-thick Ultra-Edge flighting, providing twice the steel at the outer edge for long-term performance.

The deep sump, steep sidewalls and front and rear slopes ensure fast, clean and complete unloading. The gearbox is engineered with oversized gears and bearings that are housed in a durable aluminum housing, and is static-rated at 330 hp and dynamic-rated at 153 hp for long-term, trouble-free use.

The X-TREME grain cart features a truss-frame design, structural tubular-steel axles and 10-bolt gusseted hubs for smooth trailing and low maintenance. Each spindle has a 50,000-pound capacity and is constructed of high-tensile, special-alloy steel to carry the heaviest loads with ease. Standard transport safety features include LED tail and turn lights, side marker lighting and transport chain.

The Weatherguard rollover tarp for protecting load contents is standard on models 1115 and 1315 and optional on the model 1015.

Available options include undercarriage choices of high-flotation singles, walking-tandem duals or tracks, depending on model. For determining crop yields and keeping truckload weights within legal limit, scale packages are also available.

All models feature silicone-sealed seams, a durable primer undercoat with oven-baked enamel topcoat of tractor red or green to resist corrosion.
